Part of the Deloitte Legal Canada LLP’s Data Privacy and Cybersecurity practice group, Nareg advises leading Canadian institutions on data privacy, cybersecurity, and tech law matters.
He formerly helped start-ups navigate the legal and tech regulatory space at a boutique law firm and advised corporations on how to live long, happy, healthy lives when he worked at a national Canadian law firm. He was a driver for innovative projects and strategies to improve access to justice through technology at the Cyberjustice Laboratory of the Université de Montréal for three years prior to private practice.
In his spare time, you can often find him at conferences (giving or attending). Grab his attention by discussing epistemology, public policy, or the newest tech trends in English, French or Spanish.
Publication and Speeches
Nareg is an active member of the Young Bar of Montreal’s IT committee, which is responsible for organising the Legal.IT conference. He has collaborated on Chambers and Partners practice guides for Data Protection & Cybersecurity and for Product Liability & Safety. Nareg is an alumnus of the LawWithoutWalls program and has mentored student participants since 2017.
Nareg was called to the Bar of Québec in 2019, after receiving an LL.B. from Université de Montreal in 2016 and a trilingual B.A.A. (marketing / management) from HEC Montréal in 2013. He is currently pursuing his LL.M. in IT Law at the Université de Montréal, with research focused on the liability of social media platforms for user-generated disinformation.
